Description
This was a quick sketch of my idea of Hell (which I later turned into a Matte Painting... see "End is Nigh Matte Painting"). The layout of the piece is inspired by Albert Bierstadt's "In The Mountains," a piece I have framed in my room. Albert Bierstadt, and Frederick S. Church are two of my favorite artists. I have drawn a lot of inspiration from them both.
The volcano in the background was not of my doing. It was inserted into the sketch so that I could get a quicker feel for the piece. The volcano was originally created by Dylan Cole, another artist that I have begun to learn a lot from. I have two of his Matte Painitng Tutorial DVDs and hope to get his third as soon as I can.
Photoshop, 30-minutes.

Nice. I have Bierstadt's "In The Mountains" in my living room. I like what you have done with its framework.
