Color Sketch Process

I call this one "Out on the clouds."
This is a colored sketch I did from the same series of work as the "Cave Entrance" painting, depicting more of that world. This shows the process I usually employ for this type of sketch.
I started with a rough thumbnail sketch, in this case, pen on paper, then scanned it and added value. Usually, the final sketch retains my original thumbnail somewhere in there, but in this sketch I just used the thumbnail as a basis and made a completely new painting for the final. The final sketch lost the waterfall in the foreground, as well as the sunset on the right side of the image, but I'm still pleased with how it turned out.
